The Power of a Shaved Head

My twine game is based on my recent experience of shaving my head as a queer non-binary Filipinx-Canadian. This game and medium is a work of cyberfeminism because it engages with the intersections of gender, sexuality, and race. It specifically focuses on my initial experiences of being on transit and getting used to seeing myself with a shaved head. Throughout the game, the player is able to function in the point of view of myself, navigating my inner dialogue in conflict through men staring at me in transit to processing the blank slate of a shaved head, not particularly looking like “a gender,” a new feeling.
